DAILY PAINTING: The value study has taken on some color, keeping my palette limited. Also, I've begun to nail down some ideas about the composition--seeing what direction this might take.

DAILY PAINTING: I began a value study, done with graphite sticks, to establish form, a light source and a basic composition. We'll see where this takes me.

"Chipotle" is my tribute to my Hispanic friends and neighbors, whom we met while we lived in Texas. I had not before had the pleasure of meeting such joyful, hard-working folks who shared their culture and their food with us. This is a 12" x 12" oil on canvas, and if you'd like to purchase the original (or prints) please go to my online Saatchi art site (at Gina Valenti-Lazarchik).

DAILY PAINTING: First we all held our breath as Hurricane Harvey hit Houston; then it was Florida's turn when Irma came to call. This painting was done as a tribute to all the folks who helped each other to pull through. I decided to use the two bluish canvases that I had underway and pair them to show that we all need each other's help, especially in a crisis.
