DAILY PAINTING: "Sorry, Wrong Number"
Thursday, 09-24-15
This is another black and white, cut paper collage that I made to use as the basis for my next painting. The image is a rotary phone, and the title comes from a 1948 Paramount suspense movie starring Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster. When my daughter was in school, her drama group did an adaptation of the movie, which is the impetus behind my painting.
I have sealed this collage so that I can paint on it. I have a basic palette in mind, but I'll do one or more thumbnail sketches to test the composition.
