OLD BLACK AND WHITE MOVIES

DAILY PAINTING: "Sorry, Wrong Number"

10-02-15: I mentioned at the end of yesterday's post that my intention was to use a range of analogous yellows for the number elements: Cadmium Yellow, Naples, Lemon, maybe Aureolin. I also mentioned that I switched from acrylic to oil, which we all know takes longer to dry.

So, while I'm waiting for the oil to cooperate, I did these pastel tests on pink paper to simulate what's already going on in the painting. The pastel is a good choice on this card stock because there's enough of a tooth to keep the color broken, which is what I have in mind.
