imaGINAtion ART

DAILY PAINTING: "Paris Attacks" My friends, you can see that this painting is already taking on a life of its own, even at this early stage. Surely this comes from a deep well of emotion & thought, which so many of us share.
Because I intend the newspaper collage elements to be incorporated into the painting, while still being somewhat readable, transparent paint is necessary. This is an ancient French technique (how appropriate!) called grisaille, which is how the old Masters created an underpainting in neutrals as a structure for the layers yet to come. You can see that I'm working with warm and cool neutrals mixed from Thalo & Cad Or / Naples Yel & Cobalt Violet, as well as Burnt Umber w Thalo.
